Cornerstone is fully committed to carrying out the Great Commission. Fulfilling the Great Commission encompasses not only global missions, but also mission work in Central Arkansas.
Cornerstone is leading three international mission trips this year, including a trip to Honduras, a trip to Mexico and a trip to Central Asia. The three trips all contain different dynamics, encompassing everything from medical mission work to prayer walking and relationship building in unreached regions of the world. Regular attenders and members of Cornerstone will have some of their trip subsidized, but fund-raising is a necessity to help cover trips. Trips are likely to fill up early, so if you feel called to participate in an international mission trip, you need to know sooner rather than later.
This summer will be the fifth year that Cornerstone will join Next Step Ministries in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to help build and rebuild houses for families on the reservation. This year, our trip will begin on Saturday, July 15th, and we will return on July 23rd. We have 45 spots reserved and would love for you to prayerfully consider joining us. This trip is open to all Cornerstonians, and we especially encourage families of ONE students to go. The cost of the South Dakota trip is $350 for members and regular attenders of CBF and ONE Student Ministry, which includes lodging and all meals except travel meals to and from Pine Ridge. Cornerstone is heavily involved in mission work within the Central Arkansas area. We work closely with a number of ministries in the area, including S.T.E.P. Ministries and The C.A.L.L. Cornerstone also hosts Church Under the Bridge, a ministry that provides food and a church service for homeless residents of the area, once a month. The largest body of mission work within the community occurs once a year though, when Cornerstone cancels its Sunday services to lead our Be the Church Sunday, when all attendees of Cornerstone go out into the community and perform various service projects.
