Facility Use Policy


The purpose of the buildings and grounds of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship is to glorify God. Therefore, the leadership of the church has approved guidelines for use of the facility to provide for the accomplishment of this purpose. In approving these guidelines, the leadership has made certain necessary decisions with which other persons may disagree. While the leadership does not wish to cause anxiety among members or others who may wish to use the facilities, these certain decisions are made in consideration of the wide variety of purposes for which facility use may be requested and with regard to the preservation of purpose as stated in the first sentence above.

The purpose of buildings and grounds of Cornerstone is as stated above. Any use that will or is deemed by staff to be in conflict with that purpose will not be permitted. However, leadership of Cornerstone has determined that it is appropriate to permit the use of the Cornerstone facilities for purposes that, though they may not specifically be for church-life or Christ-focused purposes, are for general or community purposes that do not conflict with the stated purpose and are not for business purposes.

BUILDING USAGE

  1. Ongoing ministries of Cornerstone
    (no-charge)
  2. Weddings of members of Cornerstone or their immediate family
    (see usage fees)
  3. Funerals of members of Cornerstone or their immediate family
    (no-charge)
  4. Members of Cornerstone may utilize the facilities for non-ministry,
    non-business purposes (see usage fees)
  5. Community events (determined by staff)

Note: all events listed above must be approved by the staff before being added to the official church calendar.

APPROVAL PROCESS

All events held at Cornerstone whether ministry related or personal must go through the proper steps of approval. They are as follows:

  1. Complete event request through the website
  2. Request will be taken to the next Tuesday scheduled staff meeting for approval/disapproval
  3. An email will be sent to requester confirming status or approval/disapproval
  4. If approved, event will be placed on the official church calendar

Note: The fees above include cost for tech team and custodial people required.

General Provisions Applicable to All Users

  • Technical arts equipment is available in certain areas. However, you must use one of our tech team members and this should be requested when the event request is submitted for consideration. The usage fee stated above includes a one hour rehearsal for weddings and time for the wedding itself. If more time is needed, a charge of $20 per hour will be added to the fee.
  • Before leaving the facility after usage, furnishings in the area used must be returned to original arrangement in which found by the user.
  • No children are to be left unsupervised on our campus at any time due to safety concerns.
  • Child care — only Cornerstone certified child care workers will be recognized as appropriate care givers on Cornerstone property.
  • Facility users are not permitted to provide their own child care for events on our campus.
  • Child care, if needed, should be requested at the time the event request is submitted.
  • For non-ministry events the cost of child care is the responsibility of the user. The charge is $12.00 an hour with a minimum of two workers.
  • Candles — need to be dripless or floor covering must be used. Any damage from candles will be the responsibility of the member who completed the event request.
  • Smoking and the use of alcoholic beverages are prohibited anywhere on the Cornerstone campus.
  • Usage fees must be paid in full in advance of the requested event date.
